Thank you to Steve Lindsay and the team for my ride out with the police on Friday night.
We started and finished in Dursley but went all over the place. It was a great privilege to spend time with specials, police, publicans, door staff, control room experts and many residents through the course of the night - all working together to keep us safe while we are out or in our homes sleeping.
It is easy to forget that the specials do this work voluntarily as they are such an established fabric of our communities. It is an incredible commitment and public service.
