Another phase of the childcare reform has come in this week.
Eligible families can apply for 15 hours of subsidised childcare fees for their 2 year olds. From September that will be from 9 months old.
It’s the workforce that needs the boost now and I’m continuing to work with brilliant people like thinktank Onward and the New Deal for Families team to look at the systems, options and greater parental choice.
But regardless of that, looking at childcare pressures for families in 2024 and ignoring the noise and the politicking - this is a good step and it will help people.
We also have parents and children at the heart of a massive UK Treasury policy and the Chancellor fully engaged which is important.
