I am writing to the Secretary of State for Transport about the need for greater accessibility at Stroud railway station.
As you know, local people and tourists are met with great difficulties at Stroud station if they are disabled, elderly, caring for young children or carrying heavy luggage. I have experienced this struggle first hand lugging a baby in pushchair over as well as a toddler.
Without lifts, the numerous existing steps to access the footpath mean there is no alternative for many but to take an extensive journey around the station where there is limited pavement in places.
I have long seen the community’s desire to improve access at the station and I have been campaigning hard to make this a reality.
It is important that we demonstrate as much local support for this as possible and I have already had over 50 local business agree to be a signatory on my letter to the Transport Secretary. If you haven’t already, and wish to do so, please do fill in my form below to become a signatory on this letter.
Please note that the letter will be made public but everyone's email addresses will be held privately and will only be used to send across a final copy of the letter.
