My speech in the climate change and biodiversity debate which focussed on four key asks:
For the Minister to work with my APPG for Wetlands which is aiming to create 100,000 of additional hectares of wetlands in the UK.
For the UK to lead investment in natural flood management.
For assistance with developing the saltmarsh code.
For there to be a specific wetlands team in DEFRA.
Protecting our environment, not only for our children, but for our children’s children too, is vital and with Stroud being the greenest constituency in the greenest county of Gloucestershire I know local people care passionately about this too.
It is my view that the Government and the country do not get enough credit for the progress we have made on the environment, but we cannot stop here and we must continue to come up with creative solutions and ideas to protect our planet.
