My recent question to Minister Freer during Justice questions with reference to Hitched who have been looking at trends for couples at the same time as I have been looking at reform of marriage laws from the 1800s.
My work in this area partly came about due to a Independent Celebrant from Stroud coming to see me to ask me to look at this as we are waiting to hear the government's views on a Law Commission report. I have since met with some of the Association of Independent Celebrants team as a result of my lovely Stroud celebrant.
On weddings more generally, I miss the taskforce gang and talking to all the wedding businesses who work so hard. This is a fantastic sector that the Cotswolds and the UK is very proud of so I love all the local venues, florists, planners, dress makers, caterers, bar people, hair dressers who all do a grand job for couples and the wider economy.
