My question to the Secretary of State for Transport, and constituency neighbour, Mark Harper MP, about the need for greater accessibility at Stroud station.
I have been campaigning on this this for a few years alongside some brilliant councillors from Stroud Town Council and a local disability campaigner called Christian.
These steps are a nightmare for many people and the alternative of walking down and around via the main road is no better for people who are disabled, elderly or even those with heavy bags or young children. I have struggled with these steps myself whilst pregnant and out with my toddler in the buggy!
I recently spoke with GWR about this issue and I am very pleased that the Secretary of State has agreed to meet with me to discuss this further.
