I have spent time speaking to constituents about the NHS over the Christmas break and going through correspondence when people have sent their experiences or suggested ideas. My team also attended our regular NHS chiefs call last week as I was doing my Randwick surgery.
I am looking for practical solutions to issues all the time and value the constructive messages I have received on this.
The Secretary of State’s announcements are positive, but I have questioned him on how quickly the funding will make a difference to Gloucestershire and as I know many local people have told me they want to ensure that taxpayers money gets to the frontline staff.
I have seen criticism that I have not gone to A&E myself to see what has happening. I respectfully do not think having an MP attending to watch during such pressured periods is something the NHS would thank us for. There are many other ways that I am listening and learning.
