The local elections for were tough for us. Everybody who put themselves forward for their communities should feel very proud as it’s not easy. Thank you again to all the blues - whether you won or lost 
Congratulations to all the winners from all parties. We are particularly pleased to return Chris Nelson as Police and Crime Commissioner and Nick Evans as Deputy (in the pic with me in Stroud).
We lost some good councillors and many experienced people have stood down to retire too.
There is no overall control at SDC again which I’m worried about as that has not proved great for the area so far on issues like planning, enforcement, big projects like Brimscombe port etc.
I obviously respect the results and we must learn and adapt to the new circumstances.
My office and I are contacted about an awful lot of work that is the responsibility of councillors so we deal with the council a lot and will continue to do so
