I have recently written a letter supporting Great Western Railway’s bid for Stroud Station to receive Access for All funding.
Local people and tourists are met with great difficulties at Stroud station if they are disabled, elderly, caring for young children or carrying heavy luggage. Without lifts, the numerous existing steps to access the footpath mean there is no alternative for many but to take an extensive journey around the station where there is limited pavement in places.
I have long seen the community’s desire to improve access at the station and I am grateful to GWR for bidding for Stroud to receive this funding.
