I am incredibly pleased that the Minister for Skills, Robert Halfon MP, confirmed to me in Education Questions this week that the Government is working hard to raise awareness of the importance of apprenticeships across the UK.
Progress is being made to put apprenticeships on an equal footing with university degrees and I welcome the news that from this Autumn students will be able to apply for apprenticeships within the UCAS Hub and employers will be able to manage applications for their apprenticeship vacancies through UCAS too.
